5 Books for November 2025
5 Books...
📚 Book club read: For our last book in the 2025 Year of Belonging, we are reading What It Takes to Heal by Prentis Hemphill. This will be a nourishing read; I hope you’ll join us!
📚 In the middle of reading: Who would I be if I didn’t have a romance novel to recommend? I’m reading Well, Actually by Mazey Eddings which was recommended by a friend. I’m torn because it’s second chance (which is my favorite trope) but also kind of enemies to lovers (which I don’t prefer).
📚 Just finished: The Skies Are Full of Us by Sarah Carter and Corrine Shark | This one has been LONG anticipated and it is such an impactful read. If you are into books where women share their deepest pain and the way they wrestled through to healing, plus a side of bestie and subtle Taylor Swift lyric insertion...this book is for you.
📚 Seasonal read: Liturgies for Resisting Empire by Kat Armas | Kat is one of my favorite current theologians, and I have been waiting for this one to come out. I mean, come on with that title. Kat grounds us in biblical truth while providing visions of living out our Christian faith in these fraught times.
📚 Timely recommendation: Nervous Systems by Sarah Billups | Another new release that I have been anticipating for months! She discusses anxiety in our bodies, in the church and in our politics, along with practices to hold space for and calm the anxiety.
What are you reading? Have you read any of these? I'd love to hear back from you; just hit reply!
