📚 Book club read: For the year of belonging this month we are reading The Leavers by Lisa Ko. It’s a story of a boy whose mother disappears and is an examination of borders and belonging. I’m excited to dive in and discuss at the end of the month. Don’t forget, you can join us any time! Click for more details.

📚 In the middle of reading: As Long As You Need by J.S. Park | I’ve been listening to this one on grief by a hospital chaplain. He offers explanation and help with soul care during times of grief.

📚 Just finished: James by Percival Everett | This was my in-person book club book for last month and I thought it was fantastic. If you haven’t heard of it, it was a Pulitzer Prize winner, telling the story of Huck Finn from the perspective of Jim (James), the enslaved man.

📚Oldie but goodie: The Spiritual Child by Dr. Lisa Miller | I recently picked this back up because I’m quoting it in my manuscript and I’m also working on offering a workshop and workbook around some of the concepts in her book as it relates to parenting after deconstruction (if this sounds interesting to you, stay tuned!

📚 Timely recommendation: A Thousand Tiny Paper Cuts: The Subtle, Insidious Nature of Spiritual Abuse and Life on the Other Side by Katherine Spearing || For anyone who felt like faith was used as a weapon, this book is for you. Order your copy now!
