In the Irish tradition, a lorica is a prayer recited for protection, invoking the power of God as a safeguard. The most well-known prayer in this tradition is the prayer of St. Patrick's Breastplate. I love how embodied the prayer is, envisioning God surrounding us on all sides. Celtic spirituality has contributed to a beautiful stream of Christian tradition filled with enchanting and embodied practices.
Check out my Circling Prayer that stems from the Celtic tradition as well.
